Qasim: I made blueberry muffins. They were pretty good, turned out nice and fluffy. I would definitely consider making muffins again. They make an easy snack.
Aleesha: I made a bunch of different kinds from the same base: banana, blueberry, strawberry, and carrot. They all also had walnuts and chocolate chips. I’ve only had the strawberry and carrot ones so far, but they were both delicious and one of my friends had a banana muffins and said it was great, so I guess it was pretty successful. I would definitely make these again because they’re convenient for making in advance and eating as snacks later.
Aleesha: When I was making the dish, it smelled amazing so I had high expectations for the taste and it didn’t quite live up to them. I may have added too much lime because it was a little sour. I would be willing to try this again with some adjustments to the recipe.
Qasim: I wasn’t a big fan. I don’t think I like the quinoa very much. The rest of it wasn’t too bad. Would not make again. I also added some turkey from yesterday. I liked it better that way
Qasim: I ended up making a Turkey Burrito instead of tacos because I bought big tortillas. I thought it was pretty good. Easy to make too.
Aleesha: Mine was okay. I wasn’t super impressed. I think I didn’t like the turkey as much as I thought I would, but I would be willing to try making it again, maybe with a different meat.
Aleesha: I think the proportions in the recipe were a little off in terms of the amount of rice to use, but it still tasted great! I wasn’t too hungry so I have leftovers which I’m looking forward to eating later this week. The recipe was also easier than I expected and I would probably make this again–also a good way to use up veggies.
Qasim: It was a lot of food. I thought it took a little too long to be worth it. But overall it was good.
Qasim: I didn’t have any salsa, but the nachos turned out pretty good anyways. A little too much cheese, but otherwise good. But then I ate too much, so I don’t want nachos anymore.
Aleesha: I was trying to be healthy, so I put less cheese but I think it needs some more. I used a lot of veggies because I had so many little random things left over from other recipes-like broccoli and eggplant. It was good, but it was really filling since it had so much stuff, so I wasn’t able to eat too much of it. I made a lot though, so I’ll turn it into a taco salad for lunch tomorrow.
Aleesha: I really don’t like bananas, but these were surprisingly not bad. You can’t really taste the mashed bananas in the batter and using cookie butter and chocolate chips on top covered up the taste of the sliced bananas. Overall, pretty good, but I think I would rather skip the bananas next time.
Qasim: I messed up flipping one of them, so they didn’t turn out great. One was real burnt and the other just kinda fell apart. But even so, they weren’t bad. Too time consuming to make unless it’s a weekend though.
Aleesha: I didn’t think I would be able to recreate the deliciousness of Chipotle and it wasn’t quite as good, but it was definitely a great meal nonetheless. I’ll still pay for a real Chipotle bowl, but I would also make this again for sure. It’s also a good way to use up leftover veggies, so that’s convenient.
Qasim: It was pretty good, cheap way to make chipotle when you want.
